The Run For The Rose Committee, A group of People, neighbors and community members who raise money to better the lives of those within our community affected by disabilities. Each year members of the community can request the funds raised for programs and projects that meet our goal of bettering the lives of individuals in our community with disabilities. In the past nine years money from this event has been donated to extend the Lancaster Bicycle path to includes one mile sensory loop. The sensory loop includes stations designed to stimulate the five senses; for example, a huge handicap accessible tree house is the focal point of one station. Funds have also been used for Forest Rose School to purchase augmentative communication devices as well as purchasing sound equipment for the O.C. Rockers. This year we are committing for the next two years to support three local schools in Fairfield County to open their own Best Buddies Program.
